Funding local health inequality initiatives
  • funding organisations rather than individuals
  • engage in support for health-focused projects
  • helping to create partnerships to pursue creative local schemes
  • funding projects in response to grant applications
  • area of benefit is “the Greater Reading area” – see map below

Queen Victoria Fund Reading (QVFR) is a local grant making charity that prioritises public health initiatives including action on health inequity.

This might include perinatal inequalities, positive action on obesity and weight loss, alcohol misuse, children’s nourishment and child socialisation. We will also consider funding initiatives which address mental health issues, including clinical depression and certain forms of addictive behaviours such as gambling.

QVFR can assist with making social prevention programmes more accessible in communities and neighbourhoods by providing local venues and professional services.

The Area of Benefit

Our area of benefit is Greater Reading including the Reading Borough and Earley Town Council bounded area
